I’m just curious, what’s the difference between a bridal gown and a wedding dress? Some people say they’re the same but some people refer to them as if they were different.

I bought my wedding dress from China and there are no dry cleaning instructions attached to the dress! The cleaners are not sure how to clean the dress! It is made of Satin and is very plain. No beads! Does anyone have instructions on how to clean this dress!

When searching for the perfect wedding gown you will want to consider top designer couture bridal gowns from Vera Wang, Amsale, and Eve of Milady, to name a few. Couture bridal gowns can be found at discounted prices online or in retail stores. Search through popular magazines like Bride to find styles that fit your wedding tastes.
When purchasing a wedding dress you will also want to consider the styles of the bridesmaid dresses and mother of the bride dresses. Of course matching the theme with them might be important for that perfect day. Couture bridal gowns give an elegant feel to your wedding, and make any bride beautiful. You may want to visit a couture trunk show to look at the fine details of the fabrics and stitching of these fine gowns. Local magazines or the newspaper might have this information.
Before setting out to the bridal shop to look for your couture gowns, remember to wear white or flesh colored underwear. Decide how you intend to style your hair and fix it as best you can by yourself. The set of your hair and the shape it creates will affect which neckline you will want to choose. Also keep in mind the accessories you will be wearing and if this fits the overall picture.
Wedding Gowns for that perfect day!

Does anyone have a suggestion of a website for wedding dresses that are not WHITE. My sister and I are planning a double wedding for ourselves. We are middle aged, it is our 2 nd marriage for both. We are unable to find decent dresses that are not white. We’ve looked at wedding gowns, bride maids dresses and mother of the bride outfits. Please advise

Long ago, bridal gowns are made for brides in different shapes and sizes. It was rare to design gowns for woman with bugling bellies. Now, you would see Brooklyn bridal gowns for pregnant brides. Truly, there is no limit of what the fashion world can offer to different brides.
A bride is still a bride despite the changing body shape. She still deserves to look her best during the most memorable and special day of her life. If you are a pregnant bride, you can choose to have it custom-made by dressmaker. This way, you will have control of how you want to look with your gown.
Here are some tips on how to design your gown and still look gorgeous. Choose maternity bridal gowns that cuts right below the bust line. With the popularity of baby doll styles or empire waist dresses, this design does not bluntly reveal the bulging belly. Design the gown in such a way that the embroidery and bead works are just within the bust. It creates a visual balance of the gown. You can also put accent just below the bust line. When meeting with the couturier or dressmaker, wear the shoes that you want to wear on your wedding day. This way, you will get the feel of your overall appearance. Since the heels would be in one to two inches, your couturier would be able to evaluate designs that will not make you look short and heavy.
Now that you have this design in mind, you can still look like a queen on your wedding day. And that is what matters.

Undoubtedly, a wedding is one of the most precious and memorable moments in life. To make this occasion more remarkable, certain customs have been practiced, like the special wedding dress, the wedding cake, etc. The bride’s dress is given special importance and care is taken to make her look like an angel in her beautiful wedding gown. The phrase, “dressed up,” is perfectly suited for a wedding, where both the bride and the groom are in their best attire.
The wedding dress is the dress worn by the bride during the wedding ceremony. “Dress maketh a man.” Befittingly, the wedding dress or the bridal gown is usually gorgeous and graceful to reflect the most precious moment in life–marriage. The color, texture, design, etc. of the wedding gown is naturally the bride’s choice. White is a popular color for American wedding dresses, as white is associated with qualities like purity, peace and chastity. Nevertheless, the gown may also be in shades of white like ivory or eggshell.
The background of the wedding governs the nature of the wedding attire. In other words, the society, the culture, and the customs followed by the parties involved in the wedding are key factors in the making of the wedding dress.
In the earlier days, any color other than black or red was acceptable for the wedding gown. A face veil was also worn. The custom of wearing a white dress at a wedding was imitated from the royal weddings, wherein the queen wore a beautiful white wedding gown with a long train behind. This idea was gained from peacocks, which were honored as royal birds.
For the Chinese, the red dress is the most preferred one for weddings. The Chinese consider red to be a lucky color. The Indians also consider red as a color of good omen, so brides in India wear a red sari, which is bright and colorful too. But this color is avoided in Western countries.
